Easy Grilled Chicken Shawarma
- Juice of 1 lemon, (~1 ounces/2 tablespoons)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- Pinch black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 pound chicken
- Combine all ingredients except chicken in a small bowl.
- Place chicken in a container or ziploc bag to marinate. Pour marinade into container and make sure the chicken is thoroughly coated. Marinate for at least 2 hours, up to 8 hours.
- Preheat grill. Grill chicken on medium heat until it is fully cooked and white in the center, with its internal temperature registering 165 degrees. This can also be done in the broiler- it will take about 10 minutes total (be sure to rotate halfway through)
